Perhaps the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues in a similar fashion to the recent Doctor Strange and The Matrix continuities. With that, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4 will continue in the movies. Reportedly, director Destin Daniel Cretton who made “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” for Marvel is in talks to take on the task of the next Spider-Man film.
Get ready with your friends and family! Filming is expected to start early next year.
MCU also stirred up the worls asRobert Downey Jr. returning as Doomsday in the Avengers franchise. Definitely, the MCU is gearing up for an epic continuation of its most beloved stories.
Cretton has also been attached to “Short Term 12,” “The Glass Castle,” and “Just Mercy.” He was attached to helm “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty” but departed the project in November of last year. Cretton is still attached to Marvel, and, like other writers, he was involved in the upcoming miniseries on the Disney+ platform, “Wonder Man.”
Cretton is also said to be writing the sequel to “Shang-Chi,” but for now, “Spider-Man 4” is the top priority at the studios.
What can we expect?
Information about a new Spider-Man film is scarce but at this stage, Holland was said to be reprising his role as Spider-Man. He had earlier expressed dissatisfaction playing the character as he aged. Marvel and Sony have had their issues, including a disagreement over the future of Spider-Man late in 2019; however, they seemed to resolve that and then made “No Way Home,” which did include past Spider-Men Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. Sony and Marvel have yet to comment on this news. The Hollywood Reporter was the first to report about Cretton.
About Spider-Man 4
Since Destin is no longer working with the Avengers, he will direct Spider-Man 4. Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers will write the script again. Tom and Zendaya will return as Peter Parker and his girlfriend MJ. Marvel Studios, led by Kevin Feige, and Sony, headed by Amy Pascal, will work together to produce the film.
The last movie, Spider-Man: No Way Home, came out in 2021. It ended with everyone forgetting that Peter is Spider-Man. Zendaya’s MJ also does not remember Peter, so if they start dating again, it will have to begin from the start.
