Other reviews and achievements so far

It was the most recommended comic by bookstore workers on the Honya Club site in 2019. In 2020, it ranked 31st in “Book of the Year” for Da Vinci. From 2021 and 2022, it ranked 4th and 6th. In 2023, it ranked 14th. The manga ranked 19th according to a TV Asahi survey in 2021, where the voters chose the favourite among them. According to the survey conducted by Line Research in 2021, Jujutsu Kaisen was, for both girls and boys, the most liked from among all Japanese high school students.

Jujutsu Kaisen placed second on the Top Anime & Manga Shows for Tumblr’s 2021 Year in Review, just behind My Hero Academia. Satoru Gojo also ranked it as a top anime & manga character as fifth character on that list. The anime also ranked 19th in Twitter Japan’s Trend Awards for 2021, basing such rankings on the year’s most discussed topics on that site.

Synopsis

It is an anime series in a dark action show where the protagonist, Yuji Itadori learns sorcery, and battles curses, or evil beings born from evil human feelings. One fateful day, Yuji eats a cursed finger to save a classmate and thus allows a powerful evil sorcerer named Ryomen Sukuna to live inside him. Covered under the wings of the protection of jujutsu sorcerers, Yuji is enrolled in Tokyo Jujutsu High School to fight curses. He is also able to befriend first-year companions under the tutelage of Satoru Gojo, namely Megumi Fushiguro and Nobara Kugisaki.
