Dive into the gripping world of “Nankai Trough Kyodai Jishin,” a new manga series by Kumichi Yoshizuki.
On its official Twitter, Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket announced that manga artist Yoshizuki Kumichi will start a new series. It is titled Nankai Trough Kyodai Jishin. Immediately, it translates to the Nankai Megathrust Earthquake. The manga is expected to debut on 30th July 2024 in the pages of Kodansha Magazine Pocket.
Yoshizuki and manga artist Aoki Yuhei are known for their recent work on the Aa Shuukatsu no Megami-sama manga. Simultaneously, Yoshizuki works on 8-jou Carnival, Kimi to Boku no Ashiato ~Time Travel Kasuga Kenkyuusho, Coulomb Fille, Kimi to 100-kai Me no Koi, and the Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto manga, a collaboration between Yoshizuki and Yamada Norie.

Nankai Trough Kyodai Jishin means an exploration of the realistic depiction of mega-thrust earthquakes that Japan expects.
In addition, Tokyopop published Yoshizuki’s Someday’s Dreamers magical slice-of-life manga in North America. The original story was based on an idea by Norie Yamada. It has spawned two television anime, two spin-off manga, and a live-action film. Sentai Filmworks released both anime series on home video in North America.
Other works
In particular, Yoshizuki and Yuhei Aoki started the Aa Shūkatsu no Megami-sama spinoff manga of Kousuke Fujishima’s Oh My Goddess! manga in Monthly Afternoon in January 2018 and ended it in October 2021.
Yoshizuki additionally launched the 8-jō Carnival manga in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in November 2017.
