Exciting news for manga fans! Ichijinsha’s Comic Zero Sun magazine reveals that Minekura Kazuya’s beloved Saiyuki Reload Blast will return from its hiatus in the November 2024 issue, hitting shelves on September 28th, 2024.
The Saiyuki Reload Blast manga, by Kazuya Minekura, will return after five years. This was announced in Ichijinsha’s Comic Zero Sum magazine on Wednesday. The new issue will come out on September 28 and will feature the manga on its cover, along with two special art cards. Saiyuki Reload Blast is the last part of Minekura’s “Saiyuki” series, which includes “Saiyuki” and “Saiyuki Reload.”
The original Saiyuki ran from February 1997 to January 2002, with 56 chapters in 9 volumes. Saiyuki Reload ran from March 2002 to June 2009, with 66 chapters in 10 volumes. Saiyuki Reload Blast started in 2009 but slowed down in 2013 because of the author’s health issues. The latest volume came out in October 2017. The manga went on break in 2017 and started again in 2019 but then paused again. The anime for Saiyuki Reload Blast began in July 2017, and Crunchyroll streamed it. The Saiyuki series has also inspired spinoff mangas, three anime series, an anime film, three OVA series, and stage shows.
After a journey marked by health challenges and sporadic releases since its inception in 2009, fans can finally look forward to new adventures in this iconic series!
The latest volume of the manga came out in October 2017. “Saiyuki Reload Blast” took a break in 2017, started again in 2019, but then took another break. The “Saiyuki” series has led to other works like spinoff manga such as “Saiyuki Gaiden” and “Saiyuki Ibun,” three TV anime series, an anime movie, three OVA series, and several stage musicals. The “Saiyuki Reload Blast” anime, made by Studio Platinum Vision, aired from July 5, 2017, to September 20, 2017, with a total of 12 episodes.
Synopsis
