The anime streaming service It’s Anime! announced on Monday, 24 June 2024, that SEEC’s Tasokare Hotel mobile game is set to receive a TV anime adaptation that will debut in January 2025.
Besides confirming the series’ production and release window, the streaming service also confirmed the production’s main cast and staff. It released a promotional video and key visuals. The nearly 90-second trailer for Tasokare Hotel opens by acknowledging the history of the franchise itself, showcasing releases in 2017 and 2022.
Director and cast
It segues into the anime production proper, introducing protagonist Neko Tsukahara and seeing her stumble upon the titular lodge. After speaking with the people there, she learns that this is a place seamlessly housing those stuck souls in limbo, which then finally move on from the world.
Tasokare Hotel Anime Adaptation Confirmed, Set Up as Next Chapter in Franchise’s History
The lineup for this features the renowned Rika Momokawa as Neko Tsukahara, Kodai Sakai as Atori Haruto, Yusuke Shirai as Masaki Osoto, Kanehira Yamamoto as the manager, Yuki Nagano as Ruri, Natsue Sasamoto as Menow, and Takashi Narumi as Kiriko in Tasokare Hotel.
The anime will be helmed by Kosuke Kuremizu at PRA Studios, with character and costume design by Yuko Hariba. Hariba is also one of the chief animation directors, along with Minefumi Harada, Yuki Yabuta, and Fumiya Uehara.
Synopsis of the anime
“‘TASOKARE HOTEL’ is a hotel, engulfed in twilight, all day long. There is no difference in day and night. It is a place between life and death where the souls that can’t seem to choose between moving on to the afterlife or back to the present world can rest their wings.
The protagonist, Neko Tsukahara, gets lost and finds ‘TASOKARE HOTEL without remembering who she is or why she’s there. Guided by the hotel staff, she is led to her room. ‘There should be things about the customer’s memories in the room. Those may help restore the customer’s memories by giving a certain——’
